Unter dem Titel „Stranger Sounds“ stellen sich zwei Acts vor, die unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten und doch so viel gemeinsam haben.
Great Red Silence
„Der düstere Klang einer nächtlichen Autofahrt endet in einer Zerreißprobe für die Hauptfigur, die sich ihrer eigenen Dämonen nicht mehr entledigen kann.“ So beschreibt die im Jahr 2015 gegründete fünfköpfige Band Great Red Silence ihre erste Video-Auskopplung „4AM“ aus dem Debütalbum „White Shark Café“. Musikalisch gesehen geht es ganz klar um Diversität: Hard Rock trifft Alternative, trifft Blues, trifft Progressive – hier will man sich nicht festlegen.
Das eigens produzierte Konzeptalbum, das sich aus Binnen- und Rahmenhandlungen zusammensetzt, handelt vom unzuverlässigen Erzähler, der seine Reisen und Erlebnisse im „White Shark Café“ beschreibt und dabei in unentdeckte Welten abtaucht. Man spürt die aufwühlende Düsterheit im Titeltrack „White Shark Café“, hört packende Stoner-Rock-Klänge in „Stranger Gods“ und wittert den Kampf mit den inneren Dämonen im Song „Impulse Control“. Eines ist klar: Wenn Great Red Silence (Mathias Kollos, Jöax Grubmüller, Martin Spiegel, Dominik Mayr & Benjamin Philippovich) einmal loslegen, sollte man lieber dabei sein.

World’s Worst Poet
Songs über die Rastlosigkeit. Identitätssuche. Liebe. Und übers unausweichliche Scheitern: Mit seinem Projekt World’s Worst Poet skizziert der Wiener Songschreiber Manuel Kurzmann seinen privaten Mikrokosmos in schlechtem Hauptschulenglisch. Das erste Resultat des kleingeistigen Folk-Feldversuchs ist die Debüt-EP „Happy Black Cat“, sechs Songs, die eine ungefähre Richtung vorgeben sollen, wie es mit diesem Projekt weitergehen könnte.
Unterstützt wird er von seinen Freunden, Produzenten und Bandkollegen bei The Boys You Know: Mathias Kollos, Dominik Mayr und Benjamin Philippovich. Die drei Musiker sind auch maßgeblich dafür verantwortlich, dass aus dahingeschrammelten Liedideen tatsächliche Songs entstehen. Gott sei Dank, denn sonst wäre das alles schwer erträglich.
